Audis are distinguished, specialized vehicles and, therefore, require specific types of oil to ensure the vehicle runs smoothly and performs well. The type of oil can have a dramatic impact on how your vehicle performs and how reliable it is. All Audi vehicles need to use specific oil that is applicable to the specific Audi Oil Quality Standard. At Right Tech Auto Audi, our professional Audi technicians only use premium Audi oils that meet the Audi Oil Quality Standard.

What Are The Audi Oil Quality Standards and Why Are They Important?
When it comes time to have the motor oil in your Audi changed, it’s imperative to the performance and quality of your vehicle to take it into an Audi specialist. Audi specialists use a certain Audi motor oil that is specifically for your Audi engine. Motor oil is important as it must meet emission and fuel requirements for the economy. Audi has developed its own oil specifications to ensure optimal performance for their vehicles.
You cannot use non-Audi approved motor oils that do not meet the Audi standards. This is because Audi engines are far too technologically advanced for lower quality motor oils. Certain Audi motor oil standards were designed and required for the benefit of your vehicle to ensure it operates at an optimal performance. Using conventional motor oils that do not meet the Audi standard can damage the interior of the engine, reduce fuel mileage and increase emissions. Using only approved Audi motor oil is essential to ensure your Audi is performing optimally.
Approved Audi Motor Oils
- 2005 Audi A4 and 2006 Audi A3 vehicles are equipped with a 2.0 Liter Turbo engine with an FSI (fuel straight injection), a fuel pump equipped in the engine camshaft and lubricated using engine motor oil. Not using Audi approved motor oil in the 2005 or 2006 model can cause wear on the engine. Use Audi oil quality standard oil type 502 00.
- 2010 Audi A3 TDI and the 2009 Audi Q7 TDI have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) that catches diesel exhaust fragments in the exhaust unit and burns soot, which results in cleaner emissions. Using non-Audi approved motor oil can increase oil consumption and clog the DPF that becomes extremely expensive to replace. Use an Audi oil quality standard of Audi 507 00 TDI oil that meets standards and will have your vehicle running at peak performance.
